Green Home Project Ideas – Metal Frame Homes

The emergence of passive houses stems from the need to break free from dependence on traditional energy sources. New energy sources such as solar and wind power are considered passive energy and are widely used. By combining familiar and mature building materials with enhanced performance to improve energy efficiency, passive houses have emerged—embodying a new concept of economy, efficiency, and comfort in this field.

Choose a smart, green home for your family. Casa Verde is a passive house with an eco-design that fully utilizes the advantages of reusable and biodegradable materials, combined with environmentally friendly technologies. The Casa Verde concept was initially piloted in phases a few years ago and has since evolved into a complete concept, gaining increasing popularity in Romania. Sometimes referred to as an eco-house or a smart house, this concept combines many aspects of environmental protection with the goal of providing residents with optimal living conditions.

Casa Verde/Casa Ecologica/Casa Piva is characterized by its numerous sustainability features, including: efficient use of energy and water resources, a focus on renewable energy and recyclable materials, innovative approaches to landscape integration, and optimized use of building management systems.

Choosing a «Smart Home» will bring you the following benefits:

• Improved health (e.g., significantly reduced respiratory and neurological diseases)

• Resource conservation (water and energy)

• Reduced waste (recycling and reuse)

• Lower costs (30-40% reduction in electricity consumption alone)

• Environmental protection (reduced pollution, improved local environment)

Project Concept: Metal-Framed Houses

Metal-framed houses are an extremely convenient option for building «Smart Homes.» The houses use prefabricated walls and are assembled directly on-site. This creates a range of standardized houses, with a significant reduction in planning costs being the primary saving. Energy-efficient materials are used for both the walls and cladding.

1. Exterior wall plastering

2. Fiber cement plaster base layer + adhesive

3. 10cm polystyrene insulation layer

4. OSB-free substructure

5. Galvanized metal frame

6. Mineral wool insulation layer

7. PVC waterproof membrane

b. Gypsum board drawings

These solutions can help you save up to 30% on heating costs.

The greenhouse’s load-bearing structure is constructed of C-, Z-, and U-shaped steel profiles made from 1.5-3.5mm thick double-layered galvanized cold-pressed steel sheets.

Economical design and the use of environmentally friendly materials ensure that metal-framed houses are not only affordable but also extremely comfortable.

Greenhouse Projects – Metal-Framed Houses

Metal-framed houses, like timber-framed houses, are becoming increasingly popular.

Building a metal-framed house on an existing foundation typically involves the following stages: first, constructing the ground floor walls, then the attic walls, followed by the second-floor walls, and finally the roof structure. After this, the house can be erected. First, the roof insulation layer (made of polystyrene) is laid and installed on the foundation. Then, the roof panels are laid. Next, the anti-condensation membrane and load-bearing roof components are installed. Finally, metal sheets or tiles are laid as the roof covering.

Prefabricated walls and standardized construction methods make the construction process more convenient. At the same time, relatively low construction costs and attractive operating costs have led to a booming and continuously growing market for this industry. International trends and increasingly sophisticated technologies are changing people’s preferences. A return to an environmentally friendly lifestyle is becoming increasingly important for many of us.
